What is Biometric Verification?
- Biometric verification is a secure way to confirm it's really you by using your fingerprint or face recognition.
- When you sign in to a device or online account, the system compares your fingerprint or face to the information saved on your device. If they match, you are granted access.
How to set up biometric login
- Sign in to the Froedtert & MCW app using your username and password.
- Select Menu (☰), scroll down and select Account Settings.
- Toggle on Use Face ID or Use Biometric Login, depending on your device.
- When prompted, select Allow to let the app use fingerprint or face recognition.
- The next time you sign in to the app, you can use your fingerprint or face recognition instead of entering your username and password.
How to turn off biometric login
- Sign in to the Froedtert & MCW app.
- Select Menu (☰), scroll down and select Account Settings.
- Toggle off Use Face ID or Use Biometric Login, depending on your device.
- When prompted, select Remove to turn off biometric login.
- The next time you sign in, you will need to enter your username and password.
Please note: For added security, the first time you use biometric login, you will be asked to verify your identity using two-factor authentication. A one-time passcode will be sent to your email address or mobile phone by text message. Enter the passcode to complete sign-in to your Froedtert & MCW app and MyChart account. You may have the option to trust your device so you do not need to complete this verification each time you sign in using biometric login.
