For new health concerns, our doctors and clinicians can prescribe most medications if appropriate for you. The prescription can then be sent to a pharmacy of your choice for pick-up.
Prescribing medications is at the discretion of the doctor or clinician following their assessment of your concerns.
If you need to renew an existing prescription and have an established relationship with a Froedtert & MCW primary care doctor, you can request prescription renewals as you have in the past through MyChart. If you have any questions or concerns about your existing medication, start a chat with us. We may refer you to the doctor who prescribed your medication for ongoing refills or renewals.
We do not prescribe or refill controlled medications, such as those for ADHD or anxiety. We also do not refill pain relievers like opioids or scheduled medications, such as marijuana. If you're unsure whether a medication you are taking is a controlled substance, you can look it up here.
